I offer one to one sessions in a safe comfortable, private therapy room which is based in a peaceful village location just outside St. Ives in Cambridgeshire. The Sessions run for 50 minutes. My aim is to walk alongside you to explore whatever it may be that is getting in the way and to help you connect to your own internal resources, to achieve a balanced and fulfilling life.
WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Counselling provides a confidential, safe space where you will be listened to without judgement. Counsellors do not offer advice, they respect each individual as the expert of their own life. A counsellors role is to empower the individual to search for their own solutions. Counselling offers a place to be truly heard which allows for exploration of both your internal and external worlds.
"when the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance...... provides illumination and healing."
I am a qualified Therapeutic counsellor, I have experience of working within various organsations. I work with adults, adolescents and young people who present with a wide range of issues such as; depression, anxiety, childhood sexual abuse, stress, bullying, lack of confidence, reduced self-esteem, relationship issues, sexuality and more.
I have gained my experience within a school setting, a charity working with adults whose lives have been affected by childhood sexual abuse and CPLS Mind.
I am a registered and accredited member of the BACP - The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (registration number 379845) I also hold an enhanced DBS.
I believe that we are all the expert of our own lives, as a counsellor I am not here to tell you what do or how to feel. I am here to walk with you on whatever journey you wish to take, to help you explore and find the clarity and healing you may be seeking.
I work using an integrative approach which means I draw on a range of theoretical ideas and skills aiming to improve your emotional and mental wellbeing. I use a range of creative methods to help you to explore and gain an increased understanding of yourself.
As a practitioner I adhere to the BACP's Ethical framework for good practice and I am currently working towards accreditation.
As part of good practice I attend regular supervision to support my case work and I am committed to continuous professional development to enhance my practice .
However you contact me I will do my very best to get back to you as quickly as I can, so we can arrange a time for a call back and to book in an initial session.
I look forward to hearing from you.
